Jonathan got lots of good toys for Christmas! Thank you everyone. He also got lots of good cookies this year. He pigged out. Now he wakes up from his nap and thinks he should get a cookie. I blame his grandmas for this. They can't resist.

Baby Gets Tatted Up

It's almost Christmas!
I love this time of year. It's so busy. So much shopping, planning and partying. Yesterday was the first Christmas party. There's another one today. Abi's graduation tonight. A wedding tomorrow. Then we are squeezing in SeaWorld, Bass Pro Shop, a weekend in Itasca, and a New Year's Eve wedding. Oh, and house guests for a week!
We might all need to go shopping and get extra outfits. Jonathan needs to look super cute!

Daycare continues...
Jonathan has almost made it through his first week of daycare. He doesn't like getting dropped off, but he's doing better during the day. He has several little girls helping him adjust. Yesterday, Audrey, a 2 year old, showed him how to hold and feed a baby doll.
Apparently, he knows Spanish. That's what the teacher says. She's speaking mostly Spanish to the kids and he's understanding. Amazing.

He survived daycare
My sweet little Jonathan is growing up. He survived his first day of school. He's at a small, home daycare. There's a max of six kids. He spent his first day with just two little girls.
Miss Sally gave us a two page typed report about his first day. She says he's happy, smart, loves music, and he might be left-handed!
He was brave when Daddy dropped him off. Jon said Jonathan knew what was going down, but put on a brave face and refused to cry until Daddy left. Miss Sally said he broke down and tried to get out a few times.
My sister was able to stay home with him his first 18 months. Now she's in nursing school and had to leave us. Yesterday may have been harder on her.
Daycare will be good for him though. He's ready to socialize.

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”
This is not dull boy! He loves to play. I took him to Chick-fil-A for lunch. He thought fries and fruit bites were awesome. He sat in the booth next to me chattering and eating.
Then we went to the play area. You would have thought he won the lottery when we walked in there. He was SO excited. He couldn't believe it. He couldn't even climb to the second level of anything, but he had a blast. It was awesome.

Children reinvent your world for you.
Jonathan has reinvented my nice clean world. I used to loved to clean the whole house then sit and look at how clean is was. I know it's a little weird. But I loved it.
Now, I love seeing yogurt hand prints on the shower glass, the fridge, the French doors, every mirror we own, on my dress, in my hair, and dried on the tile floor. Of course, it's on his face and clothes and in his diaper.
OK, maybe not LOVE, because it's so hard to clean. It does make me smile to know I have a little one that makes such beautiful messes.
This morning I found three of my hair curlers in the toilet. I found some makeup powder in the tub. Jon's work shoes were in the office trash can.
Jonathan is reinventing our lives. He's a special decorator.

Snow Monkey
Jonathan loves snow cones. These are from Snow Monkey. We walk there at least once a week. He gets the natural flavored ones .. this is strawberry. It makes a mess but he loves them! I'm even going to feature them on my show tomorrow. SA Living @ 10 a.m. on News 4 WOAI. Just in case you can watch. :)
He gets it from his momma

End of the world
People are talking about the end of the world. Some say a few of us won't be here after tomorrow. I don't believe anyone knows when the end will come.
Still - it has me thinking. I hugged Jonathan a little tighter tonight when I put him down for bed. I kissed Jon a little longer when he left to run an errand.
I looked my brother in the eye and paused for a moment to think how proud I am of him.
People say we should live each day as it is our last. This is really the first time in my life I have actually thought about what it would be like if certain people disappeared from my life.
I'm actually very blessed with wonderful parents, brothers and sister. In-laws, extended family, and friends. I have the most amazing son ever.
Think about what your life would be like if the amazing people you know weren't there anymore.
Don't get scared or sad. Be grateful. Enjoy.

Top tooth coming in
We have a top front tooth pushing through. It's been rough. He's just getting over a cold. Then the tooth. But it's ok now.
He had his first finger foods yesterday. Organic Banana Puffs .. and scrambled egg. He loves it!!!

Crawling
He can crawl. And go from sitting to crawling to sitting. He thinks he's hot stuff, too. He knows he can get into trouble now.
Apparently he didn't want me to know he could crawl. He and nanny have been doing secret training. When I get home from work, he just wants me to hold him. Today, Jon caught him crawling and I verified it when I got home. Such a little sneak. He just laughs the whole time, too.
We'll have to watch him super close now. And we'll have to watch nanny, too.
