Life's a Beach

The babymoon idea didn't exactly work out for Jon and I. I wanted to go to the Bahamas. But life happened, and we had to go with the flow. We ended up taking a babymoon - just not together.

I spent Spring Break at the Beach in Brownsville with my parents, sister and two foreign exchange students. Worked on my tan, got pampered by everyone and rested. Of course, I just couldn't do the maternity swimsuits. I just got a larger sized bikini. : )

Jon spent the week hiking and camping at Big Bend for my brother's bachelor party. They had a great time with Danny, Edwin, Chris and Norm. It was sort of a guys trip babymoon. : )

Oh well. Life happens. You deal with it. We both had a great time on our trips. It just wasn't quality couple time. We'll get that when the kid moves out of the house.

Cauliflower

I never thought I could love cauliflower. I'd still rather not eat it, but since whattoexpect.com says this week he is the size of a head of cauliflower, I've learned to appreciate the vegetable.

Some women say they have very active babies in their bellies; I believe mine is strong, and on a schedule. That makes him a mix of his parents. Jon is strong and focused. I stick to a very tight schedule. The baby's schedule is still pretty much sleep and kick. Sleep and kick, but he's still on a schedule. I like that.

Last night, my son did not like my sleep position and tried to roll us over to the other side. It made me laugh. He was having trouble adjusting, but after a lot of wiggling and squirming, he figured it out.

Proud Momma

13 Weeks 1 Day To Go

The baby is as big as a cucumber, according to whattoexpect.com. As far as being green, fresh or served on a salad, none of those apply to Jonathan James. He enjoys kicking me between the hours of 1:30- 2:30 a.m. and p.m. Daylight Saving Time did not throw him off.

Dad is getting ready for a camping trip to Big Bend. I'm sure he wishes Jonathan could tag along. But the baby is spending spring break with me in Brownsville.

The nursery is coming along slowly but surely. We have a crib, but need a mattress. We picked a monkey theme.
