Timing Contractions

Not sure if it's the real thing yet .. or just practice contractions. But there's something going on. Jon is wearing his watch 24/7 now to time contractions. We are about 25 minute apart.. they last about a minute. We've had three in a row so far. Not enough to head to the hospital.
It's funny now that we are so close - every time we call someone they ask if it is time for baby.
My family is in town this weekend just to wait for baby. Megan and Enzo (foreign exchange student from Venezuela) floated the river today with Danny and Holly. My mom, dad, and grandma just watched my belly all day for any signs.
We'll let you know when something more exciting happens.

38 Weeks Pregnant

I haven't had Taco Cabana in about two years - this Memorial Day I needed it. With a Jamba Juice. I carefully looked over the menu at Jamba Juice -searching for something with no added sugar, low calories, etc. I even ordered the 16 oz. (the smallest size).

But when I hit up the Taco Cabana - no questions - the beef Burrito Ultimo. I'd never had it before. I had no idea what was in it. But I wanted it. And a water. Weird.

No sign yet this kid wants to come out. Nothing. He's just happy playing around. Still gets active in the car with the radio turned up.

I thought Jon was ready for the baby to be here until now. I kept telling him we couldn't have the baby before my sister's graduation. That was Friday. I told him on the way home we could have the baby any time now and he got this strange look. It was like I told him I was actually pregnant with twins. He said he wasn't sure he was ready. I told him he better get ready fast.

We'll be good though. Bags are packed. My mom is packed. Megan is putting together a list of people to call when Jonathan is born.

Now we just wait.

35 weeks and growing

It's kind of tough to sleep with this thing - but we are making it work thanks to some new pillows. I'm thinking he might be a big boy - or else I've overdone it with the "eating for 2" when it comes to ice cream. We like our ice cream, right baby?

Nesting

I'm still tired and uncomfortable - but the Dad-to-be is nesting! He spent the entire day cleaning out the backyard, organizing, framing the backdoor, and even building a mosaic tile picture.
It's kind of funny - he barely came in for dinner tonight.
I don't feel the urge yet to get super cleaning and organizing everything. Though most things are in order and put together. Don't think everything is just lying around in a dirty house. : )
I'm just taking it easy and the baby is enjoying life in the belly for now. He's practicing his dance moves right now - listening to Al Green.

His Friends are Waiting

Thanks to all our friends and family, Jonathan has lots of toys waiting for his arrival. Grandma-to-be got the bedding set. Here's a shot of all his friends waiting to play with our little boy.

I found the hubcaps

Jon and I got the car seat/stroller travel system today. Here's a picture of Jon putting it together - hubcaps and all.

Six Weeks to Baby

34 weeks and counting - Jonathan is due in less than six weeks. Just this week I've noticed a big change in him.

He gets the hiccups daily. I've heard that's a good sign his system is working properly. As long as I don't get them. That would make this whole thing even more uncomfortable. Between the acid reflux, constant bathroom breaks, and sleepless nights - I don't know what I would do.

This boy is also getting much bigger and stronger. His movements are almost painful when he tries stretching out and switching positions. It's very different this week. He does get very excited when we are in the car. I think the bouncing around and the music playing gets him worked up. It's so funny. I don't think he'll be one of those babies who fall asleep in the car.

All baby showers are done - we had one with family and neighbors, Pampers and Poker with Jon's friends, and the Living girls threw a shower for me last weekend. All were super fun and we got lots of wonderful gifts for our little guy. Who knew they made teeny-tiny flip-flops for babies?

So now we just let this baby bake until he's ready to come out and play. I can't wait. Maybe I can. I don't know.
